The search committee will hold an organizational meeting next week.

They have 90 days — or until mid-February — to present 3-5 candidates to selectmen.

Also Wednesday, selectmen named Dave Castellarin as the temporary town administrator.

Castellarin, Swampscott's assistant town administrator, told selectmen that he will not apply for the permanent town administrator position.

He will assume the temporary duties until a permanent replacement is hired.

Town Administrator Andrew Maylor will leave on Dec. 15 after nine years at .

He will become North Andover's town manager.
