George Gallup and Maureen Kenney and their dog Schooner were preparing to shove off for Boston on Sunday afternoon at the end of the pier at Fisherman's Beach.

They were aboard Resolute, their 1979 Island Trader ketch sailboat.

First they were headed to Boston for the Fourth to watch the USS Constitution turnaround, Gallup said.
