A cormorant was catching lots of fish on Thursday off Fisherman's Beach.

A hungry cormorant dove repeatedly off the fish pier at Fisherman's Beach Thursday.

The black bird stayed in the same spot, about 30 feet off the pier, toward the end on the left facing the Fish House.

The bird rolled forward, plopping below the surface and returning after a minute or so submerged. Each time he surfaced, it appeared he had a silver fish in his beak.

The cormorant would tilt back his head and down the herring-like fish.
