In her work and in her blog, Marnie wants to inform and raise awareness about hoarding, a topic she became interested in on the way to earning her master's degree in social work at Salem State University in 2012.

Her goal is to help people with hoarding issues and help people who struggle with clutter.

To that end, her blog will be a place for readers to gather practical information, strategies, and tips for addressing, managing, and sustaining a safe and comfortable living environment.

Part of the way she hopes to achieve this end is to reach out to those — such as friends and family — who know people who are hampered by hoarding or clutter.

One Step at a Time is also the name of a support group program where Marnie works: North Shore Center for Compulsive Hoarding & Cluttering at North Shore Elder Services in Danvers.

The program offers support groups for individuals, families, and support systems, individual and family counseling, 1:1 in home skills training, and educational training for individuals, professionals, and agencies. the goal

Welcome Marnie and welcome readers.
