Off the Shelf at the Swampscott Library
More than books and DVDs head out the door at the Swampscott library. A whole host of "browsers," also known as magazines, get checked out, too.

The library circulates a great many magazines weekly. Most of the magazines that we currently own are what librarians refer to as “browsers."

These are magazines that you would pick up at the dentist office as you wait for an appointment. Among our browsers are cooking magazines like Every Day with Rachel Ray, Cooking Light, Bon Appetit and Food Network Magazine.
We circulate home and decorating books such as Elle Décor, Home, Good Housekeeping, Veranda, House Beautiful and Martha Stewart Living.

We don’t discriminate against the gentlemen in the house because we have Sports Illustrated, Men’s Health, Family Handyman, and Esquire. Our teen area offers editions of Game Informer, Gamepro, Rolling Stone and Shonen Jump.
The Children’s room’s copies of Thomas and Friends, Girl’s Life, Boy’s Life, Family Fun and Disney Princess are constantly being checked out.
For everyone who wants to be fit and in good health, they can check out Shape, Prevention, Health or Weight Watchers.
The ever popular People Magazine is always making its way in and out of the library as well as Woman’s Day, Family Circle and Oprah magazine.
As you can see there are many and various types of materials constantly “off the shelf” at the Swampscott Public Library.
