Mom And Son Open Sea View Cafe On Humphrey

Heather Clucas and her son Dan Clucas want their new Humphrey Street restaurant to be part of the town, part of the neighborhood.

Sea View Cafe is at 242 Humphrey, a short walk to Fisherman's and Kings Beaches.

It's 10 am Thursday at the comfortable cafe.
Frank Sinatra plays in the background at a low volume.

Customers chat and hunker over electronic devices.

The cappuccino machine sounds in the background.

The cafe serves breakfast and lunch including specialty breakfast sandwiches made with Iggy's Bread of the World.

Their pastries are baked by Kim Gregory pure pastry in Beverly.

Their signature sandwiches and paninis are popular, too. The cafe board advertises their Caprese and oven-roasted turkey with arugula , tomato, honey-Dijon on multi- grain.

Sea View is open Monday through Friday 6:30 am to 3 pm; and Saturday and Sunday7:30 am to 2 pm.

Heather was a public affairs worker at Mass General and a hostess at nearby G restaurant before she and her son opened the cafe in August.

She always wanted to own a restaurant, a comfortable place for people to relax where she is part of the town.

Come in, says Heather, to enjoy fresh and delicious food and be comfortable and cozy.
