Make Phillips Beach Sparkle Saturday
Helpers at the annual clean-up will have first crack at a coveted Friends of Phillips Beach parking sticker.
The tide will be high and the sun is expected to shine on Phillips Beach for Saturday morning’s clean-up.
The Friends of Phillips Beach group invites families, friends and anyone else who wants to help spruce up the beach Saturday morning at 9, said Glenn Paster, a board member.
Helpers will have a chance to buy a parking sticker for Phillips Beach, where parking can be mighty hard to find in the summer.

Eighty-five stickers are available. They cost $65 each, the money used for scholarships and other causes, he said.
Those who want stickers should bring their license and registration information.

Cleaners are advised to bring gloves, rakes and shovels.
The work will take a couple hours, Paster said.
Board members will start the heavy lifting Friday, replacing planks on the beach’s signature boardwalk.
The boardwalk took a beating over the winter.
“It (was) quite a winter,” he said.
Now, the beach group wants it to be quite a summer.
