Letter to the Editor: Vote O'Connor For Organization and People Skills

Resident Maureen Caron says Amy O'Connor works diligently and communicates well.

I do believe we need a new set of eyes and ears on the School Committee and Amy O’Connor is a perfect candidate.  I have had the pleasure of working with Amy for several years now as she volunteered to work with the PTO and as the Director of After School Programs at Stanley School.

I have gotten to know her very well.  In her role as After School Program Director at Stanley, Amy worked diligently to keep the lines of communication open with students, parents, and the Stanley School Office.  Her spreadsheets were the best I have had to work with in the 12 years I have worked at Stanley School, all of which were well organized and accurate.  She is intelligent, her knowledge of technology is excellent, and she has very strong organization and communication skills.

Amy is passionate about the education of all students, not just her own.  In addition, Amy is open and receptive to what is going on and what needs to change.  To see the right changes, she is willing to put in hard work.  She is easy to talk to and get to know, has a great sense of humor, and will be able to handle sensitive issues with maturity, tactfulness, and empathy while doing everything with a smile.

Due to the fact that she is conscientious and competent, she has all the qualities needed to help the planning and stability that is needed on our School Committee.  I think her qualities will be very effective when working with the School Administration and the new interim superintendent.

Amy will easily be able to demonstrate the ability to collaborate with the other members of the School Committee and would be a great asset to the School Committee and certainly has my vote.
