Letter to the Editor: Delano for School Committee

Resident Dana Swanstrom supports Ted Delano for election to the School Committee.

To the editor of the Swampscott Patch,
I am writing this letter in support of Ted Delano who is running for Swampscott School Committee.  My support for Ted is based on his experience and perspective he brings to the position.
Ted brings the experience and perspective of a father of 3 children currently or soon to be attending Swampscott schools.   He grew up in the community and has seen it change over the years.   Ted brings civic experience as a Swampscott Town Meeting member.  He has also demonstrated a commitment to the Swampscott youth over the years by helping spearhead the Swampscott Father Daughter Dance and being involved in Swampscott youth athletics.

Moreover, as a member of the Swampscott Police Department, Ted brings experience and a perspective to the school committee that few others have.  First, being President of the Swampscott Police Relief Association he’s demonstrated a commitment to his fellow officers and their families. Additionally, his past role of school resource officer and current role of detective have exposed him to issues facing our children inside and outside of school that both positively and negatively influence their educational career in Swampscott’s public schools.

This experience brings a perspective to solving these problems that not many have. My personal experience with Ted is that he is good natured, easy to work with, and has a practical approach to solving problems.  With the current list of issues facing Swampscott Schools, his traits, commitment to our community, experience, and perspective uniquely position Ted Delano to serve the Swampscott School committee and the children of Swampscott.

My vote is going to Ted.  I urge everyone to vote Ted Delano for School Committee as well.
