Lecture on Soviet and Russian Influences on USA

The Swampscott Historical Society will present the speaker and visual exhibit at the Swampscott Senior Center on Thursday at 7 pm.

 

On Thursday, April 26, the will host its April meeting at the Swampscott Senior Center (200 Essex St. Rear) at 7 pm.

Jenya Zhilina will trace Russian and Soviet history that has affected the history of the United States as well as the local impact.

Jenya is an art historian, an architectural archivist, a records manager, and an immigrant of the past 15 years.  

In addition, Christopher Burrell will showcase his collection of Soviet Posters, 1917-1967.

These posters were reprinted to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Great October Social Revolution. Some of these posters will be on display during Ms. Zhilina's talk.

This talk is open to the public, and is free for Society members.  

A donation of $5.00 for non-members is suggested.  Light refreshments will be served.
