Flooding and Regionalization Before Selectmen Wednesday

Selectmen have a lengthy agenda at Town Hall on April 3, starting with a nonpublic session at 7 p.m.

A Walnut Road resident will talk to selectmen about flooding when the board meets Wednesday.

Joseph Ford is scheduled to present information about Walnut Road drainage causing damage to his property, according to the agenda.

Also Wednesday selectmen are slated to take up approval of a citizens petition that would form a town regionalization committee.

Former Finance Committee Chairman Michael McClung tops the list of 14 names who signed the petition.

The committee would "research and evaluate regionalization opportunities, including shared services, shared departments, disincorporation, or annexation by neighboring municipalities ... ."

It would have seven members: four residents and representatives from the Board of Selectmen, School Committee and Finance Committee.

Selectmen are also scheduled to receive updates from the Beautification Committee and on the Athletic Field study.

Their first item, at 7 p.m., is to go behind closed doors "to discuss the reputation, physical condition or mental health, rather than the professional competence, of an individual, or discuss the discipline or dismissal of, or complaints or charges against, a public officer, employee, staff member or individual."
