 2) Swampscott Scholars: Micaela Gambale was recently honored as a Merrimack College Presidential Scholar in recognition of strong academic achievement at the Honors Convocation held on the campus. To be named a Presidential Scholar, a senior-year student must have achieved a cumulative 3.5 GPA or higher, based on a 4.0 grading system. The convocation was attended by parents/family/friends of the students, who acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the outstanding students. Gambale is an Athletic Training major.

3) Swampscott Athletics: The boys' varsity lacrosse team plays Minuteman Technical High School on Tuesday ay 1:30 pm in Lexington in the preliminary round of the East Div. 3 tournament. Minuteman is the 16th seed and completed the season with a 16-4 record. Swampscott is the 17th seed and ended the season 9-9.

4) Weather Watch:  The National Weather Service is predicting scattered showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 9 am. Patchy fog before 8 am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 68.
