1) Newsbit of the Day: Stop by Starbucks in Swampscott on Friday between 2-3 pm for Patch office hours. Meet Katie Curley Katzman and Terry Date. We will answer questions, take comments and show you how to use the Patch site to its fullest.

2) Swampscott Scholars: Swampscott High School's Brianna Tillotson has been awarded the Presidential Scholarship by Fisher College in the amount of $10,000 per year in recognition of her academic and personal achievements in high school.

3) Swampscott Athletics: The girls' and the boys' NEC basketball all-star teams play Friday night. Representing the Big Blue girls are Ara Talkov, Nikki Laskaris and Caroline Murphy; representing the boys are AJ Baker and Mike Walsh.
