Five Things You Need to Know Today: April 4

The School Committee is scheduled to meet tonight in nonpublic for the following reason: to investigate charges of criminal misconduct or to discuss the filing of criminal complaints. The meeting is scheduled for 7 pm at the high school.

2) Swampscott Scholars:  Swampscott's Cathryn Roberts made the Fall 2011 Dean's List at the University of Massachusetts-Boston, which has an undergraduate enrollment of more than 11,000 students and offers degrees in dozens of majors.

3) Swampscott Athletics: Both the boys and the girls spring track teams won impressive victories over Winthrop Monday in their first meet of the year. The girls won their meet 104-28 and the boys won 129-5.

5) Red Sox Watch: In one day the Boston Red Sox play their first regular season game of the 2012 season. It's in Detroit at 1 pm vs the mighty Tigers of Motown.
