Five Things You Need to Know Today: April 24

1) Newsbit of the Day: Today is Election Day in Swampscott. The polls will be open at the town's six precincts from 7 am to 8 pm.

2) Swampscott Scholars:  inducted 29 National Honor Society members on March 13. The society honors students for excellence in four areas: scholarship, leadership, service and character. One of the 29 students was Alexandra Cohen. 

3) Swampscott Athletics: The boys' baseball team plays Marblehead today at home on the Forest Avenue ballfield at 4 pm. It's a make-up game. Yesterday's game was postponed.

4) Weather Watch:  The National Weather Service is calling for a mostly sunny day, with a high near 61. Breezy, with a south wind between 13 and 23 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph.
