Dollar Sale Coming to First Church Swampscott

Here are the five things you need to know before you start your day:

1. You'll want to bring an umbrella with you when you leave the house today. The National Weather Service is predicting that local residents can expect showers before 2 p.m., then isolated showers after 3 p.m. Today's high should be near 66. Tonight should be clear, with a low around 51. (sunrise, 5:05 a.m.; low tide, 9:46 a.m.; high tide, 4:05 p.m.; sunset, 8:22 p.m.)

2. The First Church in Swampscott is kicking off Harborfest by hosting a yard sale where everything is a dollar on Saturday, June 22 from 8 to noon.  The sale will take place in the driveway and front lawn of  the church, which is located at 40 Monument Avenue. In the event of rain, the sale will be moved into Clarke Hall. Donations are gladly accepted at the church office (behind the church), beginning on Monday, June 17.
