REUPDATED: Power Restored to Vinnin Square Area

About 5:30 pm power was knocked out to about 360 customers as well as to traffic lights.

Electrical power has been restored to the 360 customers who were in the dark for a little more than an hour earlier this evening. 

About 5:30 pm, power was knocked out to customers in the Vinnin Square area due to a transformer problem.

National Grid Spokesman David Gray said at the time that the fix was an easy one once the crews arrived. It was just a matter of switching over lines.

About 5:30 pm, a falling tree limb near Paradise Road at Walker Road and Swampscott Avenue reportedly knocked out power.

Scanner reports indicated that traffic lights were out in the Vinnin Square area and that many mall businesses were in the dark.
