Fall Victim Upgraded to Fair Condition

The Marblehead librarian who fell from a Swampscott porch Thursday afternoon has been upgraded to fair condition.

 

The Marblehead librarian who sustained a severe head injury when he last week has been upgraded to fair condition at Mass General Hospital in Boston, a spokeswoman said Monday night.

Christopher Tremblay, 27, of 45 Blaney St., Swampscott, had been since the accident occurred Thursday afternoon, according to MGH's Affairs Officer Colleen Marshall.

Tremblay and a friend were reportedly trying to move a small leather couch off an apartment building's second-floor porch when the railing gave way.

The pair were reportedly moving the couch because Tremblay's landlord said the porch was too unsafe to hold it.

It is unclear whether or not the town will investigate the landlord for code violations, according to this story published in the Lynn Item.

The fall was approximately 15 feet, according to police.

According to the 2011 Marblehead Town Report, Tremblay was a senior library assistant at the Abbot Public Library.
