UPDATED: Dodgeball for Dollars

The senior class stepped closer to their goal of raising money to pay for their graduation activities.

Swampscott dodgeball dudes and gals had some laughs and hurled balls in each others general direction Wednesday in the gym.

Senior class Student Council members Lara Dandreo and Jon Perlstein collected ticket money for the event from a table in the school foyer at the bottom of the staircase.

They said there will be a flurry of activities in the coming weeks as the class scrambles to raise money for their last hurrah at SHS.

Upcoming activities include Mr. SHS, a male beauty contest, next Thursday at 7 pm at the high school, and the Senior Show, skits put on by seniors, on April 26, at 7 pm.

The class also plans a car wash though a date has yet to be announced.

Lara and Jon have mixed feelings about leaving their school after graduation.

Lara said she and many of her classmates will miss their high school days.

Both said they are soaking up the experience as the last months approach.

Upstairs in the field house the crowd was tickled with the all-in-good-fun aggression on the court.

The Stanley School Dodgers brought their own cheering section.

In the end it was Black Crush who repeated as dodgeball champs.

Players were Coach Steve Dembowski, Pete Bush, Jon Poth, Pete Beatrice, Scott Moore, Chris Cameron, and Bob Serino.

The team awarded with most spirit was the Stanley Dodgers. The players were Maureen Caron, Susan Cresta, Christine Hogan, Wes Geraci, Jeff Brown, Liz Jones, Carolyn Bottoggi, and Allison Norton, said Lara Dandreo, vice president of SHS Class of 2012.
