No discussion related to food is satisfying without something to eat.

The event's hosts, the Friends of the Swampscott Library, will satisfy the hunger by serving homemade desserts.

In addition, Ellen Winkler will talk about the Friends' mission, said Sandy Moltz, the library's young adult librarian.

The Friends' mission is to support the library as a valuable community resource.

The night will also include door prizes and a raffle.

The library is at 61 Burrill Street.
