Did You Remember to Fall Back? So Long to Daylight Saving in 2012

It's now an hour earlier than it was 24 hours ago.

Those 7 a.m. commutes will get lighter next week. Officially, Daylight Saving Time ended at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 4.

To get in tune with the fall back mode set your clocks back one hour, if they need it. Many electronic devices automatically adjust when Daylight Saving Time begins or ends.

While the sun will rise at about 6:30 a.m. next week versus about 7:30 a.m. this week, it will also set much sooner. The sun will go down at about 4:30 p.m. next week versus about 5:30 p.m. tonight.

When you change your clocks in the fall and spring, it’s also a good time to change smoke detector batteries and check to make sure the devices are in working order.

Arizona, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, U.S. Virgin Islands and American Samoa do not observe Daylight Savings Time. Of course, all of Massachusetts takes part in it.

It begins again on March 10, 2013.
