Deadline To License Dogs Feb. 1

All dogs licensed after the deadline will be assessed a $5 late fee per dog.

 

This information was provided by Town Clerk Sue Duplin.

Pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 140, Section 137 and the Town of Swampscott By-Laws, Article V, Section 15.  The Owner or Keeper of a dog six months old or older shall cause it to be registered, numbered, described and licensed annually in Town Clerk’s Office.

All dog license information including a renewal form was mailed to all dog owners early December of last year.  Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012 is the deadline to license all dogs in the Town.   All dogs licensed after this date will be accessed a $5 late fee per dog.

All dogs licensed by mail must include a completed 2012 form per dog with a check or money order payable to the and a self addressed stamped envelope returned to the .

The license(s) will be mailed to you.  This may also be done in person at Town Hall during normal business hours, Monday thru Thursday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM and Friday 8 AM to 12 PM.  Spayed/neutered dog license fee is $10 per dog, non-spayed or non-neutered dog license fee is $25 per dog.  

Whether renewing by mail or in person please supply a copy of a current rabies certificate.

Additional dog license applications are available on-line at www.town.swampscott.ma.us or   in the Town Clerk’s Office.

If you no longer have the dog, please notify the Town Clerk’s Office as soon as possible.
