Big Day Arrives For Swampscott High Seniors

Graduation ceremonies start at 1 at Blocksidge Field at Phillips Park

Swampscott High's seniors, some 200 of them, will climb the stage at Blocksidge Field this afternoon and take their diplomas in hand, tickets to the rest of their lives.

Ceremonies start at 1 p.m., though seniors are advised to arrive an hour earlier, at noon.

Sunday's weather forecast for mid-day and early afternoon calls for sunshine, and temperatures in the 80s. Not so hot as the scorchers the past two days.

Blocksidge and Phillips Park is familiar ground for many of the classmates, a place where they have played and cheered and marched over the years.

They will turn their tassels and let their flat hats fly, saying goodbye to the past and hello to the future.
