Mr. Doliber is the Past President of the Essex Society of Genealogists and a contributing editor to its journal, the Essex Genealogist. After receiving his Master of Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts in American History, he taught  history and was the Assistant Principal of Masconomet Regional High School.  In 1983 the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution cited him at the annual Continental Congress as the "Outstanding American History Teacher in the United States."  In 1984, the Freedom Foundation at Valley Forge recognized him with their "George Washington Medal for Excellence in Education". The Massachusetts Secondary School Administration Association selected Mr. Doliber as the "Massachusetts Assistant Principal of the Year", and he represented the state in Washington, D.C. To serious genealogists, his most outstanding undertaking is his current research in tracing the descendants of the entire Doliber-Dolliver family in America, one of the earliest families in Marblehead and Gloucester.  An accomplished public speaker and noted humorist, he has spoken on many different topics including Essex County families, genealogical research, the 1692 Witchcraft Hysteria, superstitions, Early Native-American life, immigration, and local history.  Take advantage of hearing this award-winning genealogist at no cost.

3) Swampscott Scholars:

Nicole Raustad, a University of Massachusetts Boston student from Swampscott, has received one of the state's new High-Demand Scholarships, awarded to students pursuing careers for which the state has an urgent need for skilled talent.

The scholarships will assist students who are majoring in health care, STEM, business and finance sectors, and planning careers in fields such as computer science, engineering, nursing and the life sciences.

"These scholarships encourage students to pursue fields where we know there are job openings," Governor Deval Patrick said. "If we want economic growth, we need to be able to produce the talent that business and industry needs. That's why investments like this, that help keep public higher education affordable and aligned with workforce needs, benefit every Massachusetts taxpayer."

4) Weather Watch:
