5 Things to Know: Review of Humphrey Property Slated for Demo

The Planning Board is scheduled to start its site plan review of the property at 267-69 Humphrey St.

1) Town and School Meeting Watch:

The Planning Board meets at 7 p.m. at the Senior Center, located at the rear of Swampscott High, 200 Essex St. Agenda items include the site plan review of proposed demolition and construction at 267-69 Humphrey St. and development of former Temple Israel property. 

The owner of 267-69 Humphrey St., Charles Patsios, has proposed to demolish the circa 1880 structure and construct condos on the site.

The wood-shingle structure has six bedrooms and four baths and sits on a third of an acre of land, according to the town assessor's listing. 

It is valued at $890,000 and was purchased in 2007 for $1,150,000.

The town's Historical Commission voted in November to invoke its 9-month delay to demolition of the property. 

2) Newsbit of the Day:

The spring sports parent/guardian/athlete meeting is tonight at 7 in the high school auditorium.

3) Swampscott Scholars: 

Kelsey Nestor, a resident of Swampscott was named to the Fall 2012 Dean's List at Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I. Kelsey is majoring in Dance.

Fulltime students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a GPA of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean's List that semester.
