5 Things to Know: Four Candidates Pull Papers For Elections
The offices for which candidates have pulled papers for elections so far are Board of Selectmen, School Committee and Planning Board.

1) Town Watch: Town offices will be closed Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Day.
2) Newsbit of the Day: As of Thursday afternoon these candidates had pulled papers for town and school elections, said Town Clerk Susan Duplin.

3) Swampscott Scholars: Swampscott High Class of 2012 graduates Emily Walls and Katherine Zarinsky received the Swampscott High School Parent Teacher Forum Scholarships.
4) Weather Watch: Sunny, with a high near 27. North wind 11 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.
5) Big Blue Watch: Tonight the varsity girls basketball team plays Lynn Classical on Classical's court. The varsity boys basketball team plays Lynn Classical at Swampscott High. Both games start at 7 p.m.
