5 Things to Know: Early Bird Babe Ruth Baseball Sign-Ups End Saturday

1) Town and School Meeting Watch: 

The Finance Committee meets at 7 p.m. in the second-floor conference room at Town Hall.

2) Newsbit of the Day:  

Early-bird registration for Swampsott Nahant Babe Ruth Baseball closes at 9 pm on Saturday March 2, 2013.  The price for early-bird registration is $160.  After Saturday evening, the price goes up to $175.   Registration is available on-line at http://www.active.com/baseball-league/swampscott-ma/swampscott-nahant-babe-ruth-baseball-2013. Swampscott Nahant Babe Ruth is the full size baseball program for players from Swampscott and Nahant ages 13, 14 and 15 as of April 30, 2013.  We play in two leagues together with Marblehead Babe Ruth, one for 13 year olds and another for 14 and 15 year olds.  Each division also fields an All-Star team in the Babe Ruth tournament.

 Lindsey Ly of Swamscott, majoring in Biology, has been named to the Chancellor's List in recognition of earning a fall semester grade point average of 3.8 or higher of a possible 4.0.
