5 Things to Know: Winter Concert at High School Thursday.

The high school concert band and the school percussion ensemble will perform first, followed by a brief intermission, then the brass quintet will play. The concert starts at 7 p.m.

The Swampscott High Music Department will present its Winter Band Concert: A Salute to America's Veterans, including a special performance by The Nautilus Brass Quintet in the school auditorium on Thursday at 7 p.m.

With equal dedication to performance excellence and educational significance, the members of Nautilus Brass are fully invested in breaking down the stereotype of the brass quintet as a bombastic tangent to artistic chamber music

3) Swampscott Scholars: 

Stonehill College recently named Swampscott resident Amisha M. Divadkar, a member of the class of 2015, to its Dean's List.

To qualify for the Dean's List at Stonehill, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have completed successfully all courses for which they were registered.

4) Weather Watch: 

Sunny, with a high near 40. Breezy, with a west wind 16 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph.
