An Exciting Week for Students of the Arts in the Swampscott Public Schools

This blog shares exciting events happening in the Swampscott Public Schools to which all are invited.

 

If you enjoy music and food, be sure to visit the First Annual Swampscott High School Fine Arts Festival and Multi-Cultural Food Sampling this Thursday night, March 15, beginning at 7 p.m. at Swampscott High School. 

The evening will begin with performances by the SHS World Drumming Ensemble, the SHS Concert Band and the SHS Percussion Ensemble.  During intermission, enjoy an art show in the high school atrium featuring pieces created by SHS art students.

In the cafeteria, enjoy a multi-cultural food tasting.  Following the intermission, special guests, The SOS Big Band of Rhode Island, will perform jazz and swing music from the 30's and 40's to modern day. 

Doors open at 6:30.  Admission to this wonderful event is free, but donations for the Swampscott Patrons of the Performing Arts (POPS), which is sponsoring this event, will be accepted.

Also opening Thursday night is the Middle School production of Cinderella. Performances will be Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 15 - 17, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 and are on sale in the Middle School Office.

Finally, Swampscott High School is please to host Together in Harmony, Sunday, March 18, at 2 p.m. in the high school auditorium. The choruses of Swampscott, Marblehead and Salem High Schools will perform a diverse program of music. 

Admission is $12 for adults and $7 for seniors and students.  A limited number of free tickets for seniors will be available at each town's senior center.
