RESCUE THE RUNWAY TO FEATURE TROUBLE THE DOG®; WORKING TOGETHER TO PROMOTE ANIMAL WELFARE

Rescue the Runway: Featuring Boston’s Finest (http://www.eventbrite.com/e/rescue-the-runway-featuring-bostons-finest-tickets-11958563385?aff=eac2 will include a booth featuring Marblehead’s own Trouble The Dog® (www.troublethedog.net).  The Celebrity Fashion Show and charity event, presented in partnership with Audrey's Rescue Angels and Durty Harry's Doggie Boutique, is designed to develop community support, and much needed awareness and funds for animal related causes.  Putting the FUN back in FUNdraiser, the event promises to deliver a fun and chic evening that will benefit local rescue and shelter organizations.  The event takes place on Sunday, August 17th at The Colonnade Hotel Boston, 120 Huntington Ave., and will kick off at 5:00 PM with a VIP cocktail reception at the stunning rooftop pool where guests and media are invited to mingle with our runway “models”. General doors open at 6:00 PM to the Grand Ballroom where guests will enjoy food, cocktails, music, a silent auction, and a runway show to end all runway shows.  The fashion show will feature Boston notables walking the runway with an adoptable pet on the other end of the leash including legendary news anchor Susan Wornick, Channel 7’s Janet Wu, Celtic’s Reporter Abby Chin, New England Revolutions Kelyn Rowe, and Boston Red Sox Mike Napoli.  Co-masters of ceremonies are Boston Herald’s Jennifer Royle and WAAF's Danielle Murr who will be sure to keep the evening fun and lively.

“When I opened my retail pet supply store Audrey’s, in the Back Bay of Boston, I was blown away by the community of animal lovers the store helped build,” said Brittany Bang, co-founder of Rescue the Runway. “When I had to close my retail location I was encouraged to start a non-profit, Audrey’s Rescue Angels, to continue the animal rescue work we had done for the community.  When Michelle Fournier, owner of Durty Harry’s, approached me with the idea of putting on a chic fashion show where proceeds went to animal welfare organizations, I jumped at the opportunity. Co-chairing this charity event was the perfect way to work with many of my favorite organizations like Sheila and Trouble The Dog and give back to the community through my non-profit. Rescue the Runway will be a celebration of everything I love about animal rescue work and this wonderful city I call home.”

“When I heard about Rescue the Runway, I offered my immediate support,” said Sheila Duncan, Co-creator of the popular children’s character Trouble The Dog and avid activist in animal rescue for more than ten years, including work with the SPCA of Tennessee.  “I share Brittany’s deep commitment to animal rescue work and am excited to help some very deserving charities including the MSPCA-Angell, PAWS New England, Lucky Lab Rescue, and Last Hope K9 Rescue.  This event will bring together people with a passion for animals working together to find loving homes for some adorable, adoptable pets.”
