La Chic Mentoring Plus's 3rd Annual Fundraiser was a Huge Success

The La Chic Mentoring Plus’s 3rd Annual Fundraiser, held on Saturday, June 7, 2014, was a huge success and even more so, with your heartwarming donation.  On behalf of everyone at La Chic Mentoring Plus, we would like to thank you for the very generous donations we received. The event was an amazing success and we are so proud to announce that we raised $11,000.00 at this event. All of the proceeds will go towards helping girls in the community with a clean, fun, safe environment to interact and to give them the skills they need in order to develop self-confidence and high self-esteem and to become responsible young ladies of today, tomorrow and the future.

It was a fun filled night of cocktails, food, music, autographs, a fashion show featuring Eco-friendly clothing, silent auction and a 50/50 raffle. Attendees had a chance to meet some local favorites such as former Red Sox Players, Billy Conigliaro and Dennis Ray "Oil Can" Boyd. The La Chic students strutted their fashions down the runway and exuded self-confidence.  They were given a surprise when Macy’s of Saugus, with the help of Glo Media Lounge in Lynn, announced that they we donating the outfits for the girls to keep.  The reaction on the girl’s faces was priceless!

La Chic Mentoring Plus is forever grateful to Dineen Bartolo for her devotion and dedication for organizing the event, Plum Consignments of Beverly and La Petite Boutique of Winthrop, GLO Media of Lynn and Macy’s of Saugus for supporting La Chic.  Without their help, the event could not have been a success!

Thank you just isn’t a large enough word for all everyone has done.  Thank you to all our Sponsors, Food & Beverage Donations, Silent Auction Donors, all who volunteered and for all of those who attended the event! Without the support from all of you, this would not have been possible. Everybody has been so giving and we all share the same thing and that is compassion & helping others. We believe in “paying it forward” and our goal for this event was to make a change and difference in one’s life and I know we accomplished that. We received an email from one of the La Chic students, Rhode Alcindor of Lynn, who 14 yrs. old and is a member of the Junior National Honor Society, and is the 2014 Winner of the Youth of the Year Award at the Boys & Girls Club.  She wrote “Thank you again. You guys have made a big impact on my life. Thanks". She has no idea the impact she made in our lives and the months of work we put into the event was all worth it!!! Again, none of this could have been done without the help of all our attendees and donors. Please continue to pay it forward. On behalf of all at La Chic Mentoring Plus, we thank you.
