You Asked: What's Opening in Remaining Space at Former Blockbuster's

The additional business is expected to open in early summer.

Verizon will sell cell phone equipment in a showroom in part of the former Blockbuster location on Paradise Road.

The communications company needs a use permit from the Zoning Board of Appeals, and, after receiving it, must wait 20 days before opening, said Rich Baldacci of the Swampscott Building Department.

The use permit is required of any new business that seeks a permit to open in the business complex at 1016 Paradise Road, in keeping with the original decision by the Planning Board, rendered when the retail spaces were constructed.
