When to Expect Next Shipment of Red Sox World Series Gear

Hats and T-shirts are expected in the shipment.

Olympia Sports at the Swampscott Mall sold all its Red Sox World Series Championship locker-room T-shirts in 30 minutes Thursday morning.

Store District Manager Megan DiMambro expects the next shipment of World Series Champion gear to the 450 Paradise Road store by early Thursday evening.

The items will include locker-room T-shirts and hats.

Customers from Swampscott and out of town converged on the store throughout the morning and early afternoon Thursday. They were seeking that red-hot commodity signifying that the bearded bunch of unlikely heroes, and the Koji- and Papi-inspired 2013 Boston Red Sox are World Champs.

Among the customers was Chris Urbano of Swampscott. Chris already has a hat that says the Red Sox were in the World Series.

Now he wants one that says the Sox won after Wednesday night's sparkling 6-1 defeat of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Before work this morning, the Olympia district store manager drove to Walpole and personally picked up the first batch of championship T-shirts.

When she got to work in Swampscott, she opened the store early.

People were waiting at the door, and they soon formed a long line inside and scooped up the shirts as surely as Mike Napoli dug many a throw from the first base dirt during the post-season.

Expect the next shipment of gear early tonight.

A sign by the cash register says the adult locker room hats will cost $32.99 and the youth hats $27.99.

The sign also indicated a limit of three hats per customer.
