Warwick Cinema Looks to Broaden Entertainment Sphere

Marblehead Selectmen recently granted The Warwick its annual entertainment license.

Look for the Warwick Cinema to double up on entertainment, serving music and culinary presentations in addition to its first-run movies.

Warwick spokesman David Zion told Marblehead selectmen earlier this month that he envisions The Warwick, 123 Pleasant St., becoming a full service entertainment center.

The board granted an annual entertainment license, good to 11:30 p.m., to the North Shore's only dine-in cinema complex.

Zion said new Warwick entertainment might include jazz and rehearsal dinners.

Already, patrons can kick back in a comfortable rocker seat to see a movie, and order food from a cafe menu from Palmers restaurant.

The cinema opened last summer, bringing movies back to downtown.

The Warwick spokesman told selectmen the feeback from the public has been positive — they are happy to have the theater in the neighborhood.
