Swampscott Man Recognized For Housing Assistance

MassHousing’s Mounzer M. Aylouche received the award from the Massachusetts Mortgage Bankers Association for outstanding work on behalf of affordable housing.

Mounzer M. Aylouche is a Swampscott parent, assistant harbormaster and a member of the volunteer Athletic Field Study Committee.

He was also recently recognized for outstanding work on behalf of affordable housing.

Mounzer is a relationship manager for MassHousing’s Homeownership and Mortgage Insurance Divisions.

MassHousing stated in a news release that Mounzer was awarded a certificate of outstanding achievement for his role as chairman of the MMBA’s Community Investment Committee.

As part of his leadership, the MMBA awarded seven $1,000 scholarships to Bunker Hill Community College students interested in a career in mortgage lending, stated MassHousing.

As president of the MMBA Foundation, the charitable arm of the organization, Aylouche was also instrumental in the MMBA’s support of non-profit organizations in Massachusetts that promote homebuyer education and counseling.

At its annual dinner and election of new officers and directors, the MMBA provided $13,000 in funding to seven non-profit agencies from across Massachusetts.

Aylouche has worked for more than 25 years in the lending industry and has worked at MassHousing since 1998.

“It is very rewarding to be able to give back and help out financially students and the non-profit organizations we support,” said Aylouche. “The generosity of the members of the MMBA and of the Foundation is the affirmation of our commitment to the lending industry in Massachusetts.”

MassHousing is the state's affordable housing bank.

According to a Boston Globe article it "provided a record-breaking $965.3 million in financing in fiscal year 2012 as thousands of homeowners flocked to its new program for low-cost, low down payment loans that don’t require mortgage insurance."

I worked with Mounzer when he was the youth soccer liaison and I was the little league player agent. We worked together to minimize conflicts in scheduling so that the kids could play both sports. We also worked to minimize conflicts in scheduling practice fields. He is a gentleman and was extremely flexible in maximizing the benefits for the youth. A well deserved award. Bob Kahn
