Solar Power Presentation Tuesday at Swampscott High

Local home and business owners can install solar panels at 20 percent below market rate.


Swampscott will hold an informational session for peope interested in installing solar power at their home or business.

The first event, Solar 101, is Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 7 pm at Swampscott High School, said Swampscott Town Planner Brian Szekely.

The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center and the Department of Energy Resources have designated Salem and Swampscott as Solarize Mass Communities.

This designation will allow home and business owners to install solar panels at 20 percent below market rate, with a return on your investment in about six years.

Leasing options are also available which require no money down.
