It has a history, and is said to be located nearby, in Gloucester, but priced far beyond most of our means — even if we pooled our resources.

Let's set our sights on the history of this fine looking sailboat.

The seller's website says it's a gaff-rigged topsail schooner built in 1924 in the Grand Banks tradition at Essex, Massachusetts by J.F. James and Sons.

She was a Boston pilot ship for almost 50 years. In the 1970s she embarked on a trip around the world making it to Fiji where she was sold. It has served as a school ship for the Coast Guard and a community tall ship.

For more info on the sailboat visit the Yachtworld site.
