What a difference a week makes.

The photos above were taken Monday afternoon at the site where the Red Rock Bistro formerly stood at 141 Humphrey St. in Swampscott.

The restaurant is currently expanding and the new space is expected to feature a roof-top deck bar and seating for 254.

Swampscott Patch will keep you posted as construction progresses.

I understand there was an accident on site last week, but I haven't heard anything. Is the Patch aware?

I usually disagree with the Historical Commission, but how was this NOT stopped? Isn't this building more significant and more of a legitimate visible landmark then many of the recent projects which they obstructed?

No need for extra parking. 250 people sitting on a roof gettin hammerd, your better off walking down and back:)

The Patch has to depend on outside sources for their reporting. I just read the town warrant. 7 percent increase in the police budget due to the added costs of the new building? (276,000) Does that cover the smell issue too? How does the Assistant assessor get a raise of 20,000.00 dollars due to market conditions? Really? From 65k to 85k? Of course the school department budget is 25 million while the town budget is 12 million. With all that money why doesn't the school department pay some of the costs of the Turf field since they will be using it.

the old red rock did a pretty active business, don't remember hearing of parking problems hindered business. you can park in Hadley school lot all summer and nights also along lynnshore drive. lets make these guys feel welcome. bad enough the historical comm is a witch hunt.
