2014 Lynn Commuter Ferry Service Launches May 19

Passengers will get from Lynn to Boston in 30 minutes.

Boston Harbor Cruises will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday to celebrate the launch of the new Lynn commuter ferry service from May 19 through Sept. 12, 2014.

Gov. Deval Patrick will be on hand for the ceremony, which is slated to begin at 2:45 p.m. on Blossom Street in Lynn.

"Under the leadership of the Lynn Economic Development and Industrial Corporation and with assistance from the state, the city of Lynn has made an effort to renovate the waterfront so that it could be  equipped for this ferry line," a release read.

Passengers will travel to and from Lynn and Boston in 30 minutes with the new water transportation.
