Local Teen Held on Armed Robbery Charge

A local teen accused of violently attacking and robbing another teen at Sunday night was ordered held Monday in Lynn District court following his arraignment on armed robbery and assault charges.

Bradley Conrad, 18, of 53 Cloutmans Lane, Marblehead, pleaded not guilty Monday to charges of armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon (lacrosse stick) and assault and battery.

His co-defendants were Christopher LeClerc, 18, of 2 Berkshire St., Swampscott and Fiorenzo Lecce, 19, of 317 Paradise Road, Swampscott, both of whom pleaded not guilty to a single charge of armed robbery.

LeClerc and Lecce were ordered released on their own personal recognizance. Conrad's bail was set at $1,500 cash and he was ordered held until his pretrial conference next month because he was already out on bail for a prior arrest.

At 9:25 p.m. Sunday, responded to a report of an armed robbery at Phillips Park. When officers arrived, a group of five teens said LeClerc, Lecce and Conrad along with a fourth teen, John Michael Murray, 18, of 54 Glendale Road, Marblehead, confronted them when they finished a basketball game.

Murray, who wasn't arraigned in court Monday, has since been charged with armed robbery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (wooden board) and assault and battery, according to court documents. It is unclear whether or not he has been located by police.

One of the alleged victims told police that Murray, armed with a 2x4, approached him and stole a $20 bill from his hand and when he asked for it back, Conrad, who was reportedly armed with a lacrosse stick, grabbed him by the throat, according to police.

Murray allegedly went on to smash out one of the windows and a taillight of the victim's car, which was parked nearby. He also reportedly struck the victim in the leg with the wooden board, according to court documents.

Although the other teens didn't attack the victim, they were reportedly complicit in the robbery and had "Murray's back" during the incident, according to police.

Shortly after sending out a description of the suspects, LeClerc, Lecce and Conrad were located by police walking together down Puritan Road and were brought back to Phillips Park so the victim could identify them.

LeClerc, Lecce and Conrad were placed under arrest for armed robbery and a small amount of marijuana was reportedly found in Conrad's sock during the booking process, according to court documents.

A judge recently banned Conrad from being in downtown Marblehead with the exception of while he is attending school, following three arrests in town.

In July, Conrad was arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer at an underage drinking party. He was arrested in March for alllegedly threatening to bring a knife to the high school and kill another student and in May for his role in an alleged attempted robbery near Cafe Vesuvius.

Judge Albert Conlon ordered Conrad, LeClerc and Lecce to return to court for a pretrial conference on Sept. 20.
