Thank you for supporting HAWC

The United Martial Arts Center, located in Vinnin Square Plaza, would like to thank the community and our students for their support in our 11th annual fundraiser for HAWC - Healing Abuse Working for Change, a non-profit organization in Salem, MA.

The fund raiser concluded Wednesday night with an Open House that included a children’s kick-a-thon and martial arts demonstrations by students and instructors.  Candace Waldron and Sheila Radziewicz of HAWC were also in attendance to talk about HAWC programs. 

Fundraising events were held the United Martial Arts Center through the spring. These included a Women’s Self Defense Class, Children’s Stranger Danger Seminar, Saturday Morning Tai Chi Classes, and a raffle with items donated by local businesses. We would like to thank Savorii for donating a hand crafted leather yoga bag and a gift certificate, Elements Therapeutic Massage in Vinnin Square, Andrew Michaels Salon in Salem, and Julanne Tutty for donating gift certificates for therapeutic massage, and Lea Hill for donating a gift certificate for the Teens Empowerment Camp that will be offered at the United Martial Arts Center on Friday mornings in July.

The United Martial Arts Center raised over $1,000 for HAWC this year; we are very grateful to our students and instructors for their hard work and dedication and to our community for continuing to support our fundraising events.
