It's the next Swampscott Public Library art class for teens! Haiku and Senryu: A Poetry and Art-making Workshop for program for 5th through 12th graders, May 9, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Haiku and Senryu poetry have the same syllable count, but the focus of the poems differ.

While haiku often depicts a snapshot of a moment in time and refers to nature and seasons, senryu poems are about human nature.
In this two-hour workshop, participants will create both senryu and haiku poems, then illustrate their work in a folding card.

The class is free and all materials will be provided.
