This will be especially true for the April 10 concert.

Tchaikovsky’s Fourth Symphony, with its four movements ranging from bold to contemplative to whimsical before culminating in its explosive conclusion, is among the most popular examples of symphonic creation.

Ralph Vaughan Williams “The Lark Ascending,” by contrast, is an evocative violin solo that mimics the graceful flight of a skylark.

The composer was inspired by a poem by English poet George Meredith.  Its hushed whispers and arcing pronouncements reveal the full and delicate range of the violin.

Zoia Bologovsky, the NSPO’s concertmaster since 1999, is the featured soloist. Ms. Bologovsky is well-known throughout New England, having performed with the Portland Symphony and the Rhode Island Philharmonic, the MetroWest Symphony and she serves as principal second violin of the Nashua Symphony.

A graduate of the Julliard School, she also teaches violin.
