Swampscott on Breaking Bad

Maybe you saw it, or heard it.

"You know, I was in Boston once. Boston and a little town called Swampscott, which is right outside of Boston. It's kind of near New Hampshire, right?"

Plenty of those who watched the season premiere of the hit television drama Breaking Bad heard this Swampscott reference last night.

Tweets galore attest to it.

The responses on Twitter expressed excitement, disbelief and surprise:

Swampscott's on a bit of a national recognition roll.

First there was a scene from the movie Ted being shot in town last year.

This summer lots of the Adam Sandler sequel Grown Ups 2 is being shot here.

And now the town gets a mention in a big-time television drama.
