North Shore Philharmonic Back on Stage Sunday

With last weekend's blizzard reduced a week later to melting piles of dirty snow, the North Shore Philharmonic Orchestra will try this Sunday to perform its Winter Concert, which was postponed last week.  That is assuming, of course, that the snow predicted for this weekend doesn't interfere.

The concert begins at 3 p.m. at Swampscott High School Auditorium and features a program of Beethoven's Symphony No. 3, the Dvorak Violin Concerto with soloist Irina Muresanu, and Mozart's Overture to Don Giovanni.

"The circumstances last week were just too dangerous to hold the concert," said an Orchestra spokesperson. "It would have been a shame to have such a great concert, with no audience to enjoy it."

Tickets are $20, $15 for seniors and students, and children 12 and under are admitted free.  Tickets can be purchased in advance through the Orchestra's website.  For more information call 781 286 0024.
