Swampscott Civil War Monument was erected in 1883.
It's inscription says:
"In Memory Of The Brave
And Heroic Soldiers Who
Died In Defence Of Their
Country. This Monument Is
Erected By The Town Of
Swampscott.
'Our Nations Defenders
Dead But Not Forgotten.'"
