Hayley On Back To School Style

For back-to-school-style info we talk to our fashion consultant, Hayley Gookin of Swampscott.

When we want fashion information we turn to Hayley Gookin.

We asked Hayley for a biographical sketch and observations about fall and winter fashion.

Hayley's Bio

Hayley is starting school at Salem State just after Labor Day.

She is a Swampscott High and Marian Court grad, just having received her Associates Degree in Fashion Merchandising at Marian Court in May.

Hayley just turned 21 and has lived in Swampscott all her life.  This summer she participated in an internship program at Nordstrom which was sales based, but she was able to attend many company meetings and got to meet one of the Nordstrom brothers — a great experience.

While in school this year she will continue to work at Nordstrom in the women's shoes department, and after graduating I hope to stay with the company and continue to move up.

Her ideal job after graduation would be to join a marketing team at a fashion based company or to become a fashion journalist.

Hayley's Fashion Outlook:

As for back to school styles the new fall trends that we are seeing the most of this season are printed skinny jeans for girls, tall leather boots, and an oversized top or sweater (anything girls can feel comfortable and cute in all day at school).

Colors for the season include; deep reds, navy, and mustard yellow.

Guys will be seen in fitted jeans, thermal shirts, and graphic tees.

For winter styles I think we are going to see a lot of long jackets, high waisted printed pants, chunky knit scarves, and lots of boots!
