Has Grown Ups 2 Turned a Profit Yet?

The Adam Sandler movie Grown Ups 2 still has a ways to go before it surpasses its worldwide receipts for its predecessor, Grown Ups.

As of the latest ticket count, the movie has earned $131,964,540 in the United States and $100,300,000 in foreign theaters for a grand total of $232,264,540, according to Box Office Mojo.

The Sony/Columbia PG-13 film, released July 12, had a production budget of $80 million.

The movie was filmed largely in Marblehead and Swampscott the summer of 2012, putting the familiar cast of characters back to work including Sandler, Kevin James, Salma Hayek, Chris Rock and David Spade.

The original movie, Grown Ups, released June, 25, 2010, piled up more than $271 million worldwide over its run. It was also rated PG-13 and had an $80 million production budget.

It remains to be seen what the worldwide take will be for Ups 2; and whether their will be an Ups 3.
