Thursday's Filming

The Swampscott filming took place in the morning at the Swampscott Train Station and in the late afternoon on Humphrey Avenue.

Fans including Lisa Ledbury said they have caught the movie bug what with filming taking place in and around Swampscott.

Up until now she wasn't one to follow movie doings. But now she has visited several and even follows David Spade's Twitter account.

Several movie actors continued their fan-friendly approach to film making, crossing the road at the train station Thursday to say hello to onlookers and pose for photographs — generating excitement and goodwill.

Later Thursday about 5 pm, Sherry Roy-Kolthof heard a commotion from her Humphrey Street home. She lives close to the movie parking and storage camp at the former Temple Israel.

She came outside and saw a flatbed truck hauling a tan sedan surrounded by movie set lighting.

The truck was rolling down the street, apparently to simulate a driving scene for the sedan.

The truck turned left from the Temple parking lot and continued over Humphrey, she said.

Tractor trailer trucks lined Humphrey from one end of Orchard to the other. She could not see who the actor was inside the tan sedan.

Upcoming Filming

Meanwhile, filming that was expected to take place Friday in Marblehead at the police station has been moved to an undisclosed town.

The movie crew will travel to a Hanscom Air Force Base location on Friday, according to one of the set workers.

School Filming and Such

The Swampscott High School Class of 2012 will have a Hollywood presence at their graduation ceremony Sunday at .

Construction continues behind the park's football stadium on the tent-topped building that is to host pool scene filming.

The work looks weeks away from completion as the foundation of shipping containers is still being erected.

The movie will donate a $10,000 gift on behalf of the Class of 2012.

This is because of movie presence — though not filming – at Phillips Park during high school graduation.

In addition, the district will receive $40,000 for providing the middle school classroom for a day.

The Adam Sandler movie is a sequel to his Grown Ups movie.

Grown Ups 2 tells of the reunion of childhood friends in a fictional New England town — Stanton.
