Here are 5 things to do this weekend:

1. Learn to Skate —  If your son or daughter is interested in learning to play hockey, this is a great family friendly program to get started.  Registration begins at 10 am Saturday at the Connery Rink on Shepard St. (right off the Lynnway) in Lynn.
Many Swampscott residents enjoy the great family environment offered by the Comets program.

2. Go for a walk — Newly groomed is fine for walking. Or maybe Phillips Beach. Bring a thermos of hot chocolate or get one at Dunkin' Donuts (try the mint chocolate) and toast the seagulls.

3. Root for the Pats — The Pats take on Tebow and the Broncos. Stomp the Broncs. The game is at home. Saturday, 8 pm.

4. Learn —  On Sunday, Donald A. Doliber will present a talk called "Native Americans in Marblehead,” at 2 pm at the Abbott Public Library, 235 Pleasant St. For information call 781-631-1481.

5. Learn More — On Monday, The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston will host a free open house celebrating the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. with films, performances and art activities. The celebration starts at 10 am and lasts to 4:45 pm.
